General Questions

Is there caffeine? What is L-Theanine?

Yes!

Susurrus Sparkling Teas are bottlings of true tea - not herbals - meaning these are teas crafted from the camellia sinensis plant. Its leaves naturally contain caffeine, but a bottle of Susurrus is relatively low in caffeine in comparison to coffee or espresso and should not be thought of as a "caffeinated beverage."

Here's why:

Tea is the only plant to naturally synthesize the amino-acid, L-Theanine.

L-Theanine crosses the blood-brain barrier to naturally promote relaxing brain activity, combat anxiety, and support healthy, restful sleep patterns. It is often taken as a supplement and added to functional beverages for these desired benefits, and it is derived from TEA!

Enjoying tea's unique kiss of caffeine paired with its calming L-Theanine makes you feel happy, calm, sociable, present and alert, and can actually help improve your quality of sleep.

No wonder monks have been drinking tea to enhance their meditations for centuries!

Is there an expiration date, or an ideal drinking window?

Susurrus Sparkling Tea is shelf-stable and is best enjoyed with 24 months (2 years) of its bottling date.

Like fine wine, consider this its "drinking window," when the inherent aromas and flavors are ideal and as enjoyable as possible.

Once you pop the cork, use a bottle stopper as a seal to preserve the champagne-like bubbles for 2-3 days, stored in the refrigerator.

To ensure this prolonged and ideal drinking window, consider storing your bottles like fine wine: out of direct sunlight and in stable, cool temperatures.

How do I store and serve Susurrus?

For storage and serving, think of Susurrus Sparkling Tea exactly as you would bottles of champagne or sparkling wine.

Susurrus is best stored out of direct sunlight and in stable, cool temperatures.

Especially if you plan to enjoy it soon, store your bottles in the fridge and serve chilled in tulip flutes or white wine glasses.

Mugs or a red Solo cups work too - whatever makes you happy.

Is there any alcohol?

Nope! Each bottling is inherently non-alcoholic and no fermentation is involved.
